New Mini Dragon

Blue and Copper Mini Dragon


This one actually going to be mounted on a small box suitable for storing things like nick-knacks, tarot cards, jewelry, etc. and will be offered for sale at a couple of local craft shows this summer for $50.00. The dragon itself is about 9" long, 7"wide, and 3" tall. But first I thought it would be cute to get a couple of "candid shots" out in the garden.

The upper side of the wings are covered with copper foil leaf and the underside and chest plates are done with copper liquid leafing. I'm always amazed that the little ones are actually a bit more work than the larger ones.

That is a cutie, and so much nicer than the mass-produced ones I'm always seeing pop up on eBay

I still have some things to work out on the mini dragons, but I'm hoping that they will sell a bit better than the larger, more expensive dragons. I'm also hoping the wings will be a little less fragile (less weight, less spread out) during shipping. If so I' may open these up to overseas sales.

Question for anyone who might be interested in commissioning a mini dragon at some point:

Do you like the idea of a box mount, or would you prefer a simple base like with the larger ones?

I love the idea of it being mounted on a little box, but then part of my hoarding has me putting little gemstones, shells and other trinkets in special little boxes
