| just a neat little practice exorcise my grade school math teacher used to do in the mornings to warm us up! he would write down five numbers, random numbers he would make up on the spot. he would ask us to pick one by vote and he would circle it. then we had to use the other four to come up with the circled number but you can only use each number once, like this:
1 6 9 (4) 8
These numbers i actually did come up with just right now, and this is now you use the other four to get 4, as follows:
8 - (9 - 6) + 1
(9 - 6) = 3
3 + 1 = 4
8 - 4 = (4)
so far we havent gotten a single problem that couldnt be solved! it was so fun, lets try it! first person to solve it gets to post the next random numbers and circle one of them.
btw, you can use any math you know to solve it, and you can use each sign as many times as you want. here are a few that might be helpful.
o the basic math you know these! ( + - x / )
o factorial, where you take a number and multiply it by the number under it, then the next, then the next, until you multiply it by one. so 4! looks like this: 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24 ( #! )
o exponents, where you multiply a number by itself as many times as the exponent. so 4^2 is 4x4 and 7^3 is 7x7x7. ( #^#)
o anything else you can think of! be creative ^^
======================================
alright here we go!
9 0 (-7) 3 1 | |

| [(9 + 3 ) / ( 4/2)] 12 / 2 6 try this one! i think i might know how to do it, but its a stretch! lets test the theory that there isnt one that can't be solved! (using single all digit numbers) -1 -1 (9) -1 -1 EDIT: yep, it was an easy one! ill reveal answer after someone else solves it! | |

| fwah i forgot what i had originally thought up x.x lol but i came up with a solution again :3 if we use algebra...
a = (-1 + -1) + -1
a = -2 + -1
a = -3
( ( a )! + a )( -1 )
( -6 + -3 )( -1 )
-9( -1 )
